Activities of the Mutt
Daily Worship for Lord Siva in the Mutt
On behalf of our Adigalar the Pooja for Lord Siva is done in the Tamil version both in morning and evening Sessions. The children in the Mutt and the public visit the temple and worship Lord Siva and receive blessings from our Adiglar. Prasadam is served in the Mutt for them.
Celebration of other Hindu festivals
The other festivals like Deepavali and Pongal are also celebrated grandly in the Mutt with school & college students. The people from the surrounding village are also invited and new clothes and food will be distributed to them.
On special days like Pradhosam, Krithigai, Sastipoojai and Sivarathiri there will be normal Pooja in morning and evening session and special Prasadham will be served to the people who come for worship in the Mutt. Maha Shivaratri will be celebrated grandly by conducting 4 Velvi and 4 Homams in the Mutt. Devotional songs for Lord Siva will be sung by our prayer committee.
About Cowsala Farm
Being in a way of Saivam Tradition the morning Pooja for the cows are also being done as (Goo-Pooja) at early morning and as part of the Mutt there are more than 40 cows for the welfare of the children by using milk and curd for the natural health. It is also legally registered under the central government scheme for cowsala and its wastes are also used for the organic farms of the Mutt. The produce from the farm is used for feeding the hostel children.
His Spiritual Trip to the Holy Sacred Places
For the wellbeing of Spirituality among the people our Adiglar also helped many people to worship at the holy places of KEDARNATH, AMARNATH and KAILASH in which more than 20,000 people have been benefitted from it.
Alternation of Temples
Our Adiglar has helped in alternations of a lot of temples in South India. Some of them were more than 1500 years old. And also our Adiglar has conducted 45 Samayam classes for the last 15 years and totally more than 3000 training classes were taken during that period for the people.
Distribution of Free things
Every year in the Tamil Month of Puratasi(Magam) free school uniforms are distributed in the Holy Mutt for around 1000 children. For the past 18 Years on Pongal day, new clothes and pongal related articles are distributed to the needy people in the surrounding villages. Awards for selected 55 farmers are given to encourage their farming activities and also to educate the people about the importance of agriculture.
About Kumara Deva Pathipagam
The Mutt was established to educate the people about the Saiva Siddhanta and ways of good dharmic life. To keep up with this aim, a book center, and the publishing house has been established in the name of Kumara Deva Pathipagam. Free newsletters are sent through the year to members of the mutt.
Social Activity
As a part of Social Responsibility, the Adiglar trust has been focusing on the Tribal Welfare of people to uplift them in their society. The Trust gives free food, shelter and education to the tribal people in the area. The trust also involves in infrastructure strengthening activities in these tribal settlements to uplift their standard of living. And on behalf of Nanambigai Prayer committee, prayers are offered for the welfare of the tribal people.
Natural Activity
In the terms of the natural services, the Mutt organizes large scale plantation drives in the surrounding areas of Perur. The Mutt has adopted five villages and planted more than 50,000 trees and also more than 2,50,000 trees have been maintained by the volunteers and the school students of the Adiglar institutions.
There is herbal farm in Sadivayul next to Vellingiri hills. The exhibition center there hosts one Herbal Exhibition every year to help educate the people about the goodness of these herbs. The vegetables are cultivated in organic methods and it is used for preparing hygienic food for the consumption of the school and college hostels students and remaining is given to the Mutt visitors.
